Reputation Points?

Hi guys I'm just wondering how you give another user rep. points, how you get rep. points and what rep. points are. :confused:

Just click on the scales symbol on the upper right of the post and click "I approve" and then a comment if you want and click Add to Reputation. Its as easy as that! So how about some rep points, huh? HAHA!

Rep points are a good way of showing people how nice and helpful a person can be or even if there a good learner. You dont have to give them just for helping you, you can give them for helping others too.

The scale on the right side of a persons post will allow you to give rep points. You can't give rep though unless you have received it. A persons rep shows that members of the community trust what the person has to say and that the person has made positive posts in help of others.. Negative rep should never be given out though.... There is a sticky that gm posted that will explain everything.. Good luck and have some fun on the forum...

Click User CP on the left side of the screen on your controls.. If you have there will be a message there with rep points and on the right you can see how many you have.....

Okay now I have a ? ...

When you click on the User CP and it shows you the latest rep recieved I have had all green little boxes next to them until just recently I got a little purple/grey one is that a bad rep indicator. If so I think it is probably a mistake if you look at the comment on the post.

It is probably a new poster and is not able to give you feedback. You start out w/ like 10 rep and you can't give it out really to add to the other peoples rep.

Yup. You have to have rep points to give rep points. Someone with 0 rep points gives 0 rep points and it is indicated by a grey box. Red boxes indicate negative rep but this is something that shouldn't be given at all. The more rep points you have the more rep points you give.

Good post,However,I dont think negative reps are given out near enough,it might help alleviate some of the nonsense that gets posted around here at times.

The problem is that negative rep will beget negative rep. Once posted it can not be removed.

Im well aware of the consequences of giving neg rep.I have never given any and would only do so in an extreme case.I did have someone attempt to give me negative rep but they were too new to give good or bad.Personally I have never wanted to give bad rep,,,,,,,,,,yet.
