my hornwort in my 10g puffer tank seems to be dying off. I have about 1.5w/g and CO2.....so why would it be dying????? it seems that everytime i get hornwort it dies on me.

Mine is doing that same thing. It looks perfect then all of a sudden the leaves start to get this fuzzy stuff on them and they just die off. Then the plant dies.

What's the pH and gH of you water, squirt? Hornwort does best in the alkaline and fairly hard, say 7.5, gH around 15 or so.
It usually fails in the slightly acid and rather soft most plants enjoy.
