Angels get THAT big? (pic)

This is one of the angels in a new setup at the National Aquarium in D.C. That is my finger at the bottom.

Yip - that's the good old fashioned wild type P. Altum - beautiful <drools> The species is the largest of the genus and specimens exceeding 20 inches in height (from tip of dorsal to tip of anal fin) are not uncommon.

So that is why it is good boys & girls to remember that those cute little things can get massive and not to stick them in to too small a tank :hmm3grin2orange:

very observant Ed, If it's a male I don't think it very old or it's a female

nice fish i have one exactly the same and she changes coour
she currently part of a breeding pair and the babies are very pretty LOL
and it looks like your angel is female too, you can tell by the shape under the mouth round is female and a straight line is male

Short dorsal and anal on that one. Looks as if she was kept in too small a tank most of her life. She should be at least eight inches tall at that point. If she's FI or wild, 10 inchers aren't uncommon.
I used to keep six Altum angels. They top out at 22 inches tall.
