Well, here they are. I exchanged two males for what I hope is two females.

those are some pretty fish. Rams have really good temperments too. Are you planning on breeding them?

Tropfish, I am planning on breeding them. They better pair up soon, I'm getting impatient, lol.

Erik, I bought 4 a week or so before thanksgiving. I exchanged two for 2 females a few days ago. They seem much hardier than german blues. However, I had to treat them for internal parasites, so you may want to feed medicated food or therma a+ NLS. If you have any questions about how to get rams that dont die in a few days, let me know.

Hey Ed,

What food are you feeding them regularly? Mine aren't nearly as colored up as yours...

I wish I could find any type of Ram. I haven't even seen them at the local (non-chain) LFS's here in town.

Used to feed them frozen brine shrimp and tetras flakes. A few days I started feeding them therma a+ NLS food. Their color is about the same so far. What temp is your tank at?

My tank temp is about 78-80... (Can't be accurate because I'm at work, but I'm sure it's the upper 70's close to 80) I've heard good things about the NLS. I've wanted to try it, it's just hard to find.

Another question. A tad off topic, but related to your answer. How much brine shrimp do you feed? Do you chuck in a whole square? And is it messy?

digital3, try raising the temp to 84f, they will really color up.

I dont feed brine shrimp anymore, because I want to see about this 10 dya guarantee, but when I did, I would feed probably 1/4 to 1/2 of a block. The mess was never a problem, unless you put in too much.

Very nice rams!

Can the tetras tolerate that high of a temp?

When we were at the lfs today we were looking at the bolivian rams. They are so colorful! They have 6 paired b. rams in a 29 gallon right now and 1 pair have spawned! I wish I had another tank to purchase a pair or two.. thumbs2: Nice rams Ed!

Sometimes. Cardinal tetras can.

Sweet rams Ed! I am trying to get another tank and I am seriously thinking about trying to breed them. My lfs has them for $8.50. If you can get them to breed, can you let know all the specifics.
