ive had this large silver gourami for a while that im attached to. I just looked at him, and his nose is very white and looks scratched, and its not red, and i dont think its mouth rot since its above his mouth, and not physical damage. tankmates are only 2 orange mollies in my 15g long.

is it a disease?

I take it these spots weren't there before? Anything in the tank he could've rubbed up against? I if it doesn't look like rot, I would just keep an eye on it and see if it developes into anything. Obviously we know you take care of your tanks and know what to do as precaution...so thats the only rational thing I can think of.

I agree with Megan on this. No idea what could have happened, but obviously tank conditions are not in question here. I think we just watch it closely and see what comes about.

its odd, hes a dark silver but the spot is really light. parameters are fine and the tanks a steady 80f and filtration is a fluval 205 canister.

I will look in my Manual of Fish Health and let you know what I find tomorrow.
P.S. I seriously think every fish keeper should have this book

still no red on it, if it were red i would treat it as bacterial but its just a white, hes still eating and everything

the white is going away and the silver is coming back, so whatever it was its gone
