My Christmas was great. I got to pop about 50 snails and that's a lot more fun that popping those air pockets in bubblewrap around stupid Christmas presents. LOL

Enjoy those hetic Christmas with the kids. Before you know it, it's all over and you'll always wish you were right back to that time again.

We open gifts on Christmas Eve after a nice dinner...today we veg and I make a formal turkey dinner...

That's what I'm doing right now...cooking stuff! Turkey wasn't quite thawed as early as I usually try for, so we're eating a tad later than normal (7:30)...so we're still 'doing' Christmas!

I got a brown leather office chair (economy model, but still very nice) and a an art book - Horse Art Throught the Ages...

The 12 year old got an iPod Vidoe that he can't figure out (oh boy), the others mostly got clothes and some games and whatnot...

But the big household gift to everyone is Cable TV and hi-speed internet...

Should have the connection in 3 weeks (I hope).

In a word, wonderful.

This is our first Christmas that has the family spread out all over. A slight bummer there. The earing$ I got my wife just didn't cut it. Nice earing$ and not cheap but just didn't look good on her. Back to the $tore for those. I ordered myself a laptop, and got me some of the usuals, spent too much on my wife and kid but I always do...

So my Mom and Dad moved an hour and a half away about five weeks ago and Mom has been ill ever since, refusing to see a doc. We think she just stressed out and shut down. She has agreed to see one this week and we visited today. Mom was in great spirits and was laughing for the first time in over a month. I can't ask for a better Christmas than that.

it's good to hear that your mom will see a doctor. all in all sounds like a good christmas!

She is lonely I bet and depressed. Hard sometimes to make adjustments and Christmas adds to it. She will be OK once she gets "used to it". At least I hope she does.

I lost my mother 2 years ago this week and my brother 3 months before her. Sucks.

Got to spend the day with my kids and half the grandchildren, step-Daughter couldn't make it, thats 2 grandkids I missed.

All in all I was happy, my Son was here for 26 hrs.( Lives and works in Shanghai )

As Hobbs said, enjoy those kids while you can, one day they will be grown and having everyone together doesn't happen very often

My Daughter told us she is pregnant(#4)

Christmas was pretty good over here. Just glad it's over, now it's time to relax ... thumbs2:

We got another pretty good dumping of snow today, which should make boxing day rush quite a bit of fun.

What is boxing day? (I know its a Canada thing, thats it)

My christmas....waking up at 9am, being shocked and running to my daughters bedroom to make sure she was still okay (she usually wakes up no later than 7-7:30am), she was just starting to wake up as I opened her door. lol Took her downstairs, got to look at her presents, then the opening started. She was funny. She would pull half the paper off just to see what it was and move on to the next one. lol She liked everything though and has been playing with all of it non stop since yesterday. She got a ton of stuff this year.
Then my parents, my sister, my husband and I exchanged our gifts together. That was really nice. I got an outfit with a couple pairs of socks, a new purse and wallet (rob calls it my luggage b/c its a big tote bag purse lol), a double circle pendant necklace, the newest harry potter dvd, and i'm getting my python today. All in all it was good day. This morning my dad took my sister back to Pennsylvania. I sure do miss her. She's thinking about moving down here in May though, once she saves up some money for an apartment and some other stuff. I really hope she moves down, but her interest in things change with the wind....so who knows if it'll really happen.

boxing day is when almost every store sells last years stuff at cheap prices. i know bestbuy and futureshop have ipods for like $50 and plasma TV's are cheap. last year boxing day i got a 36" plasma HDTV for only a couple hundred. they also sell lots of videogames cheap.

people wait early morning to be the first ones in stores for boxing day and its worth it!

They don't have Boxing Day in the US? I didn't know that. Guess it must just be a Commonwealth Nation tradition then.

A quick run down on Boxing Day, originally, in the middle ages, Boxing Day was a time when Employers or Lords would give gifts to their staff or the less fortunate.

It then evolved into the day when you would bring back or exchange the gifts you didn't need or care for.

However, as Cocoa mentioned, in recent times it's become the days of big sales and insane shopping spree's. The deals one can get can be pretty amazing.

lol, nope, no boxing, just a bunch of cheap stuff
