View Full Version : *ack* One anemone = Two anemones!
*ACK*
My anemone has seemed a little odd after it's filter intake 'incident'...but not sick exactly...colour has been good...was eating...
...yesterday it was small...had lost it's bubble tips...and wouldn't eat...so I thought I'd better keep an eye out on it...
...er, just went to check on it now...
I have TWO anemones...:22:
Dunno if that's good or not...it was a bit small to split, or so I thought...and I did read somewhere along the line that they might split if stressed...which isn't the best option...
Guess there ain't much I can do about it now...lol...except feed them both!

Don't a lot of people sell them back to their LFS?

Anemones behave exactly like that (not eat, shrink a bit, split) when they are happy, which means, Rue, that you're doing a great job in your reef tank. They stop eating for a bit to store energy to asexually reproduce.
Its tough enough to keep anemones alive long term anyway, but to have them reproduce is a treat.

Thanks guys! They both look much better this morning!!!
Here they are! (Ignore the algae...I haven't cleaned the tank this week...and it's an on-going battle)...

Dunno what I'm going to do with Baby! I suppose if it ever detaches...I'll have to sell it! No room in my tank for 2!
BTW..ignore the aiptasia too...I'm waiting for them to grow big enough that I can get at 'em...
