Ever since I got my barbs a few months ago they have spent a majority of the time chasing/being chased. In the beginning the big one chasing the smaller of the two and just last week I witnessed the smaller of the two chasing the larger one.
Today I witnessed the two of them "dancing" around one another for 15-20 minutes. I took some videos but they are dark. I can lighten them on my home PC but can't figure out how to save them that way. I increased the brightness about 25 and the contrast 90.

Are they mating? (http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t50/NJBowyer/?action=view&current=Barbs1.flv)http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t50/NJBowyer/?action=view&current=Barbs1.flv

I dont think they are mating. And what do you mean by dance. I had 18 tiger barbsand the males would do little dance where they would kind of cicle each other. It is to determine status

Correct me if I am wrong but they look like males.
The "dancing" is called fighting and, as fishfanatic33 said, they are deteriming status. Sometimes they will fight so aggressivly that one may get injured resulting in death
