I have 2 red oscars that are about 4" long with a pleco that is about the same size and the oscars seem very scared. They won't come to the top of the tank and eat unless I get far away from the tank, and they are always hiding in this boat I have or they sit in the very back corner of the tank and act very scared. Is this normal for some fish or is something wrong? I add stress zyme to the tank every week. Thanks!

I would recommend that you add some deither fish to the tank, in other words, add a few other active fishes that can swim around the tank and show the oscars that it is safe to move around in the aquarium. It is not unusuall that fish gets scared if they are keept more or less alone like in this case.

redviper748 Yes Os tend to hide for a bit in a new tank but I have never seen them hide from someone who feeds them.
What other fish did you get?

Some good choices for dither fish for the Oscars are tinfoil barbs and clown loaches. I have both in my Oscar tank and he is active and very happy. What dither fish did you end up choosing?
