Do you have a good picture of a fish that you think AC should have an article about?

If so attach the picture/pictures to a post in this thread and suggest that an article be written on that species and I'll try to write and publish one when I get the chance.
( I will likely not be able to write anything until after new year)

I will try to write on all topics that are suggested this way (time allowing) but I might not if a topic is to obscure.

(only attach pitures that you have the copyright to and that you are willing to let AC use)

Don't have a picture but still want to suggest one or several articles?
Then do so. Perhaps I or someone else got a picture.

Remember your suggestions help make AC better.

They are really interesting little life forms and an article might bring several responses.I grow them and have spawned them twice so far -I have videos and still photographs.

"What is an Invertebrate?"

A very short, but easy, scientific article out-lining what's what.

This could be 2 articles; One for FW species and one for SW species.

I've read a lot of different things-some contradictory-about chemical filtration. An article explaining what it is and the plusses and minuses would be nice.
(Please forgive me if this is already on the forum. I'm new, and reading a bunch, and maybe just haven't seen this part of the forum yet.)

Hows about an article on how to figure which kind of fish go with other kinds! I don't know if this could possibly be a 'definitive' edition, as there could be some contradictory information.

Just an idear I suppose

Hmmm that might be best doe by some type of guide software that gives you tank mate suggestions based on the fish you keep.

I have an idea on how to do this. If someone have time to spare and are willing to help me with this hey are welcome to pm me.

Maybe a combined article (like sailor and wbzorker suggested) on determining the advantages/disadvantages to the different types of filters and the advantages/disadvatages on chemical filtration. It could also include how to determine the correct size filter for your tank and when/if it would be a good idea to use 2 filters instead of just 1. The article could also cover the reason why you want to avoid "dead" areas in the water and ways to correct it.

William, if you would permit me to share my expertise (small that it is) regarding unusual ways to decorate a tank, I would be happy to do so. These are some examples of the results:

I use calendars, cards and inexpensive prints for backgrounds and build the tank around color themes that will match, contrast or compliment the colors of the occupants. Of course the spacial needs (caves or open) of the fish and inverts are the first priority, but I also take into account how each critter will look in the 4 quadrants of the tank. If you feel this approach would be helpful to others I would be glad to write an article. If not, no problem, I still got a chance to share pics with my new community:19:

I guess it could! I might try and put a freshwater one together sometime soon. I'm no SW expert.

Every one has to do water changes but I've all too often seen a lot of confusion and incorrect information on this critical subject. People think that a 30% WC achieves something useful when trying to reduced, say an ammonia spike - no how, no way that small a WC is helping. Also, two 50% WC do not equal, or even come close to a single 90% WC. I have written two answers on this topic but I notice that no such sticky is available. Is there a more important topic other than cycling, I'm at a lost to know.

I'd be willing to do a short post if a few examples if anyone was very interested.

The fiddler crab. Any of the Uca genus is fine. I'm tired of going into stores or talking to some one and haveing them tell me that fiddlers are fresh water and like being in a bare bottom tank with no acces to air what so ever. If you do decide to write an article about them please PM me the link to it so I can copy it off and hand it out to some of the store managers. Thank you.
*EDIT* This is a picture of one of my own females so no copyright infringment!
