would guppies do better in a low end brackish tank or a freshwater tank? i remember being told before that they can handle the salt that you keep mollies in.

well IMO i have some feeder guppies (pretty well the same as fancy guppies) in my 33g freshwater and then i have some in my 20g brackish fiddler crab tank. THe ones in the brackish water seem to be doing better than the ones in the FW.

Now that is just my experience but other people might disagree and say other wise.

Don't forget that mine are Feeder Guppies not Fancy Guppies...that might make a difference...but i doubt it.

i decided to put them in my 10g freshwater tank. i have balloon mollies in my brackish and they are kind of nippy, so i figured the guppies would be better off in the other tank.

yeah i would stick to the FW then if you have mollies in the BW.

Mitcore, brackish water is weak marine water, or more precisely its less than the 1.024 to 1.025 of natural sale water. Pure water is 1.000. Brackish can be anything over that with marine salt, usually 1.010 is the norm for brackish fish.
