You are so lucky. I have 9 SD and 6 are full grown and BIG. I have never had a mating but I have always had bottom feeders so eggs are probably getting eaten.

Thanks for the link, LISIOUS. I will go read it myself.

Good luck with those babies.

OH OH

About 2000 eggs are produced by each female.
The eggs fall to the bottom.
Remove the adult fish after the spawning as they will eat the eggs.

I really need to know how to adjust the water parameters for them becouse the last time i tried the eggs didnt hatch, and i think it's becouse of the bad water parameters.
My SD's are in a great condition, and they started to show their black spots, witch apear when they are redy to spawn!
Please help me!!!

Your fish are already used to your water parameters and have adapted to it. The fact that they are showing they are ready to spawn means they are doing fine in the water you now have.

The link posted by the above poster does mention that parents should be removed once they spawn as they eat their own eggs, however. If you could put a pair in a tank of their own and remove them once they've spawned it would be idea.
