I'm trying to figure out if I want Honey Gouramis or Sparkling Gouramis. I have already spoken to a few people who have Sparkling Gouramis but I don't know much about honeys. Anyone have Honey Gouramis and can tell me anything about them, such as behavior etc?
Thanks

I have 1 honey in my 30G. They are very peaceful fish who do well with almost all other freshwater fish. I feed mine flake food, blood worms and the occasional brine shrimp. Here is a link to a Honey Gourami profile if you want more detailed profile

Hope it helps and good luck, honeys are easy to care for, peaceful, beautiful fish.

i love how sparkling gouramis look but dont like how small they stay, honey gouramis look pretty nice and get to a decent size. It's kinda hard to choose but if i had to choose i would probably get like 5 or 6 sparkling gouramis

A few more questions.... How big do Honey Gouramis get? Are they aggressive? Do they hide alot or swim around in the tank? What area in the tank do they occupy most?

Both are great fish with beautiful colors but the honeys were my fav of the 2. Very peaceful and the bright yellow was just a real color booster in my tank. My sparklings, well, a couple of those goomers were ornery and would dart out of hiding to pick on and chase my betta and then zoom off when he tried to turn around:c12:

I want a fish that stays on the top, is noticeable (because I need some color to my tank) and also peaceful. I have enough room in my tank for one more fish and I think that it will be the Honey Gourami.
I saw a few at the Pet Store the other day so I hope they still have at least one when I go back. I've got to get my Q-tank ready for it.
Thanks for all the information guys!

Pretty much sums it all up. I have a powder blue and that is all he does and its about 2 inches maybe a little more.
How big of tank are you thinking of keeping this gourami in?

The gourami will be kept in my 10 gallon planted tank.
