So it has begun, the 3 stage move. I'm moving in April, and my work is moving at the end of June. I just moved my main salt water tank to my office at work, and this is how I did it:

5pm - Leave work, head to simple pet store and pickup $9USD 10g tank.
5:30pm - Drive out to my saltwater retailer
6pm - Arrive at dealer, buy 10 gallons of saltwater, 5 gallons RO fresh
6:45pm - Arrive home, place 10g on wood on floor, fill 1/2 with water from tank im moving stuff from, place heater and drop some RO fresh and a bit of saltwater, making sure I have enough water level to drop in LR (water change) drop in heater and let it warm
7pm - water is perfect temp and gravity, water tests good
7:15pm - Start moving LR to new tank, top to bottom, leaving bottom rocks for last
7:30pm - Found HUGE, at least 8 inches long, Bristleworm! Never knew he was in there! Removed the base rock he was hiding in along with the punk, removed the rest of the base rocks as well and have them quarentined for a bit.
7:45pm - Moved Hob filter, then rapidly moved Fish from 1 tank to another since water temp and quality were exactly the same, I didn't bother to acclimate.
8pm - Moved shrimp and hermit crabs and snails that were still left in tank to 10g.
8:15pm - Drained the rest of the water away, leaving about 1 inche above the sand...then I took a piece of glass I had and started shifting the sand from the bottom into piles, looking for and removing pest creatures (bristleworms mainly). Found about 11 of them besides the big daddy. Shifted the sand around until the water looked very very very dirty. Then I sucked the rest of the water out of the tank, but left just a bit in the sand to keep it from dying while in transit.
8:45pm - Put tank and stand into car with 15 gallons of water and drove it to work.
9pm - Setup stand, shimmed any rock in it and checked to make sure it was level
9:15pm - Poured all the water in and let it sit overnight.
10pm - Left work, headed home, showered, and read a book until 11pm then fell alseep completely exhausted lol

Twas a fun night last night. I'm putting in all the filtration, water pumps etc in at the end of the work day, then tomorrow I'll bring in 1/2 the LR and put that in there and let it sit for about a week, doing a few water changes, watch water chemistry, and if everything looks good, I'll move the rest of the LR and fish over to the office.

And I get to do this again in June lol

Anything anyone else suggest doing different based on experience? I haven't had any issues yet, but can always do things better in June.

Thanks

I am moving my 10 gallon this friday from my college dorm back to my house. Shouldn't be too hard....
