I also only have fw but have been thinking about a nano salt tank for fun. Maybe next year though. Iím currently working on resealing my 38 gal tall for a more integrated planted tank. Just glad to be a part of the community! Thanks!

Go big or go ...well-er, home. Shucks it doesn't work does it? Too bad you couldn't make a outdoor fish-extension to the house.

What's REALLY too bad is that Lauren is taking her first 2 years of college at the university I work at, instead of moving off to A&M, lol...I SO had plans for her room

Oh well, I guess I can't balk at her tuition being free as long as she goes here...

Savings on her college = More for your fish budget, then!

Indeed, that's about half of the cost, right there...if she gets the scholarship she's aiming for (which I think she will), she can even move into the dorms here at work at no cost

In a perfect world, lol

I would need to get rid of some vital furniture to get a tank of that size. Not that it would be a problem for me- who needs furniture. But, the husband...

Being the party pooper of the group and a person that bought and sold tanks for a living, you could do better. The seller doesn't show any of the lighting or exactly what equipment. If he paid 6k to 8k for that set up, I have a bridge I'd like to sell him. Texas is a huge aquarium market in the US and very competitive , I'd guess if you look around, you could buy that set up new for under 2k.

fissh--If you see a deal like this in California I would love to hear about it. I may just have to lose a couch or a table for that! :)

Buy a bunk bed.... You and your wife sleep on the bottom and your daughter sleeps on top. Her room is now open!! Or do this... https://www.reddit.com/r/DiWHY/comments/b262r0/at_least_the_demons_under_the_bed_will_be_clean/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

What about the RO/DI unit?

If it's for the whole house tap water usage, it could be pricey, no?

What about the RO/DI unit?

If it's for the whole house tap water usage, it could be pricey, no?

Most of those units do 50 to 75 a day, can your house live on that? My 300 gal per day does about 75 gal per day, go figure

Slaphppy7
03-21-2019, 12:21 PM
Nope, that wouldn't work

If I bought a setup that had a RO/DI, I would just sell the unit, my tap water is fine for most fish I like

I have a RODI California special (it uses half the waste water) and ended up only using it for my wife's carnivous plants. That's one of the problems on used set ups, you end up paying for stuff you don't need.

Where in Cal are you and what size are you looking for, Glass or acrylic? I'd be happy to look around for you. I currently am going to give away 6 - 40 gallon breeder tanks, if that interests you let me know.

I would love to have another, but too far away

Shipping a tank that size would defeat the entire purpose of my favorite price*, as well

*"Free"

Kirstin_orion113
03-23-2019, 12:19 AM
Hahaha righttttt cost about the same as a tank already here to ship. Kind of defeats the purpose of free lol

fissh
03-23-2019, 02:30 AM
It would cost more than a new tank if you shipped it.
