how real is this snail? I googled it and I only found a few sites all in German or Dutch. Not a US snail as of yet?

They are something new on the market so it should not take long for them to hit the market.. many LFS import from Germany (rams etc) so should be able to order some in

I'm putting this thread back into the mix to see if anyone in North America has heard or seen any of these available here yet, or if maybe it was bad info??

Wow, nice... nothing is more enticing than a "killer snail". What is aquabid? is it like ebay for fish? or is it reputable dealers?

Has anyone bought Anentome helena to advise on how they work, what it means to tank health?

I love my snails because of all the benefits to my tank health. I've never had any algae or "waste"/water condition issues since I introduced them and shrimp to all my tanks. All the sites say they will revert to cleaning once the other snails are eaten, but is it true or a selling ploy?

I don't want to rid my tank of snails, just changing the type in at least one of them. Kinda like having a fish that eats fish....

If anyone has any first hand experience with them, please share!!:18:

I don't have mts here, just the mystery and sometimes the big ramshorn. Right now I only have the snails which tagged along with my plants, pond and something else...... none too exciting, but do the job.

Which is why i'm so interested in these

I have 5 Anetome Helena's - they eat all of the smaller snails and even MTS ...the Anetome will hunt around for snails around the tank if it cannot find any it will burrow itself under the substrate to get a few MTS. I have empty shells every week when changing the water...

Very interesting. New on the market and an import sound like an expensive snail by the time it ever hits our country. Hope some of these US fish farms can grab a bunch and start breeding them here.

Its a mix of both. That IMO. I have bought many fish from their and until recently hadn't lost a single one. They all arrived in great condition and health. I lost almost all my apistos but I think something got into my water(cleaner or something) cause they all died over night after having them for about 2 months.

This snail looks cool! I might have to get a couple for my 40g hex. Thought I killed all the pond snails from my 10g when I transfered plants but I was wrong. Now they are starting to come back.
