Thanks, everyone. The starfish picked up scent of food and hurriedly went up the glass. The queen angel was curious as to what I was doing with the phone and decided to investigate.

I'm just over here chuckling to myself about how a photo of my first fish tank, complete with wacky colored fake plants, received enough votes to tie for 2nd place. I feel as though the votes it received were pity votes lol

Lol! The colors in that tank blend together really well. You did a good job at placing the colorful plants in the right spots to have everything work together.

Nautilus291 full disclosure: I'm colorblind hahahaha!

Agreed, Idk how that guy does it! You have some very good concept of shades then!

Haha my wife would beg to differ. She's always pretty exasperated when I attempt to pick out our son's clothes for the day

Lol! That cracks me up. Well you deal with it very well to me :) And haha, I was surprised to find out that tank was yours! It's colorful, but not André stylz.

BluewaterBoof
09-27-2018, 07:38 PM
Haha definitely not my usual style. It was my first tank before I even knew planted tanks were a thing, and all I wanted was to have a psychedelic setup that would glow under a black light thumbs2:

It took me a while, but it eventually evolved into something a little more organic haha

Here's mine lol!

It wanted to be saltwater lol

Not a FTS, but blue gravel and artificial coral lol!

Hahaha that's awesome. I love the combination of the artificial plants with the artificial corals :19:

I see you kept the castle in the later version, just tucked it into a corner. Visually, very appealing.

BluewaterBoof
09-27-2018, 10:14 PM
Yeah, the castle stayed with the tank for quite a while, even when I transferred all the animals and plants to a larger 55gal. The shrimp were always crawling all over it, and my pearl gourami would always be gliding through it (in through a large opening in the back and out through the doorway).

That's awesome! I would be keeping it too! You've done a great job to incorporate a castle in a planted tank. I need to get some hygro angustifolia again!

BluewaterBoof
09-28-2018, 03:47 PM
The angustifolia, along with an anubias, were my very first plants :19: I used them for a very long time in several different setups. Great plant that can be as big as you want and effortless to keep.

I agree, I think someone ate mine though! It looks like a nicer plant than a hygro weed, especially a bunch of it. I also like rosenervig, which they also ate!
