First off i bought a Phython from walmart to do water changes with but the adapter to the faucet doesn't fit mine.... so i'm going to take it back but what are my other options?
30gal no fish yet.
Second what kind of fungus is growing on my honeywort? And why do i have so much debris on all my plants? And how much algae is too much? You can see it's starting on my sea star but only slightly.
Should i be fertilizing? I'm going to test the water and see what i get for the results but i might want to get a fish to eat the mold/fungus on my honeywort but even then does it look okay?

Never mind about the phython. I just checked the other bathroom and it fit that one. So i think it's going to work.

when my tank was new upt to about 3 months i had that slimy brown stuff as well.everyday I would wipe as much off as I could and remove it from the tank.Like has been mentioned before it will go away. You will have lots of algae at first especially if you have strong lighting and not alot of plants. My advice to you would be to wait for the slimy stuff to subside then pack that tank with as many easy plants as you can handle. That way they will use up alot of the nutrients that algae would need.I really dont know of anything that eats that slimy stuff.

That happens to pretty much all newly set up planted tanks. Nutrients (organics) are everywhere, and the biofilm on the leaves thrives, giving you that fuzzy stuff on the leaves. Takes a month or two, but when your tank hits its stride, you won't see that stuff again, unless you consistantly overfeed your fish.

So should i buy some sort of fertilizer to help my plants grow? They have been in there for about a month now and i can't see any noticeable growth. And i'm afraid the Honeywort is going to die if it doesn't start growing out of the nasty stuff to get light. You can see how they are very tall but hardly any leaves and the leaves that are left are turning clear.

I use Seachem Florish in new tanks to give the plants a little kick.

Thats what i was looking at online. Next time i head out i'll look into getting it. Also do my number look like i've been cycled and can add fish again? I know it's hard to tell from on reading but I added Bio Spira about 2 weeks ago and just did a water change today.
Also with the python i'm using water straight from the tap so what product do i use to treat that water?

do you have city water,or well.If your using city water right into the tank, that alone will be a problem for your plants.Honestly right now with as much brown algae as you have ferts will do next to nothing to help.Your plants are suffering because possibly untreated tap water and a buildup of slime that is impeding there photsynthesis.I had moneywort as well when I started my tank,it did not make it.

Well i just got in there the other day to do a little clean up. It may look like some sort of moss growing on my honeywort but it was actually the plant desintigrating. The plants were basically rotten from the stem and practically just nothing but mush.
I planted some vals and there were a few stems that look like they could make it but it's going to be a hard recovery. I also left some of the other stems there seemed good even though they didn't have leaves. I'll give them until they start looking sick and get them out quick. I also planted a bigger Anubis in the middle.
