Attacked!

I was working in my tank today. At 28" in depth (71cm) for me to work on the bottom of the tank I need all of my arm. While trying to get a suction cup off of the bottom I felt a little pinch in my upper arm. A second and a quick third and as I was pulling out to see what was happening I caught the little buggers getting ready to attack again. Not one, but both male and female rosey barb! I’ve had fish attack my arm hairs in the past but this was the first time I’ve ever been bitten. I sustained at least 5 or 6 “bites” and believe I’ll heal in time.

I bet you have a couple in there ready to spawn. Scares the heck out of me when fish do that.

I was cleaning the inside of the parrot tank with a long handled brush yesterday and the female was all over that thing. I need to remove their eggs (again) from the flower pot but haven't the nerve to put my hand in there yet. I may sneak up on them in their sleep. LOL

I wonder if they bite with those silly mouths? They sure hit ya hard.

lol. My cherry barbs always "peck" at me during water changes and my snails will climb onto my fingers (brig snails). I don't have any big fish that could hurt me though.

my tiger barbs are the same way. the whole school comes to see what i'm doing in "their" territory. once they establish that i'm only a few hundred times thier size they attack.

lol. My fish swim around my hands but haven't actually bit me. My Bettas always think that I have something special for them to eat. But then again, they always think that I am there to feed them no matter what I am doing.

When my Angels were young they used to attack my finger luckly for me they grew out of it or it would have started getting painful.

My black knife is in love with my hand.He swirls all around and through my fingers while Im cleaning.One day I put just my finger in ,after he investigated all over it you would not believe how big there mouths are,scared the heck out of me but it didnt hurt.

This thread reminds me of something I saw a year or two or so ago. These Asian fellows were in a public bath in their altogethers with a bunch of shrimp. The shrimp groomed the men, picking off dead skin or whatever.
