Just bought an oscar today. It was in a tank that said "various oscars" so I have no idea what type it actually is. Any info?

All Oscars are the same species; Astronotus ocellatus. All the color variations are man-made by selective breeding.

Yep, definately Red Tiger Oscar. Nice markings too. Often times as they get larger their colors and marking will change. So he may not be as bright as he grows larger.

The ones that are red striped are called Red Tiger Oscars, all other colors are Tiger oscars. He may be a mix of zebra and tiger.
