Dempseys slow down and almost stop at 8 or nine inches, Hobbs. Had one for 20 years in a 75 that stopped there. Oscars only slow down when they hit 14 inches.

Oscars are good, Jacks are good, but my personal favorite to an alternative to an oscar would be Severums.

You could get a trio of blood parrots, very personably fish.
