I’m not sure if this is anything or if I’m just being paranoid because you can see it on old pictures of Hermes too, but is this black spotting anything I should worry about?

His tank is cycling right now so doing daily water changes to 0 that out.
Ammonia is at 0 and Nitrites(?) are at 25-50ish usually and I do a water change accordingly every night

For the first week I had him I put paraguard in his tank to try and get rid of any petstore yuckies

He’s got black on his fins near his gils too, which I’ve been trying to grab a picture of but he won’t let me so this is the best I can do [emoji30]

Did this just appear or do you think you may have missed it when you got him? Because of his darker eye, he may just have a black gene that will become more prevalent as he ages. Its not red which often times is a bacterial issue. Maybe another member has more info.:goldfish:

Super late response is late; I didn’t get a notification about this response [emoji31].
But maybe - he did have some black on him when I got him it just seemed like it was growing, might be changing colours in the new environment. He seems fine and it seems to have stopped so fingers crossed 🤞
