Goldfish Trouble help!!!!

My Sisters Goldfish lyes on its back on the top of the tank. It has been doing this for a few weeks. Any tips on what might may be going on would be much appreciated.

Oh no...is it bloated like really bloated? Any red blotches on it's body? Pictures?

I dont see any red blotches but it is fat.

Hmm...naturally fat? It might have swim bladder disease or it could be something else worse. You said it has already been like that for weeks?

yeah. It does that but when you walk up to the tank it turns right side up.but when I walk away it goes back upside down.

Oh wow! It's now swimming properly! That's good to hear. What was your sister feeding it and what's the new diet?

Probably just a flake food. Dry it compacts in their intestines, giving them buoancy problems. Takes them quite a while to void it, if they ever do.

She was just feeding them pellets.She started feeding them some krill and peas.
Now maybe they will lose some wieght.Their fatthumbs2:

yea right now i have a black moor. it has been doing the same thing just not fully upside down. ill stop feeding it flake foods for the time being and start feeding it peas and the occasional pellet
