View Full Version : reccomend a heater?
What are some good reliable heaters?
The one I have on my ten gal is fluctuating too much even when I dont touch the settings it will fluctuate(its very touchy). So I want to get one that will adjust easily so the fluctuations are not big. at the moment it goes from about 80 down to 70 but I adjusted it(very carefully) and its now at a stable 78..for now...stupid heater.

I'd go with Visi-Therm Stealth Heater... quite reliable... lots of good comment on it too (I'm sure I won't be the only one recommending this one)... tho might be a bit expensive compared to others heaters... but your call...
My favorite heater is the Ebo Jaeger. They're extremely dependable and I swear by them.
Second on my list is the Visa-Therm Stealth as Azear stated!

i would say stealth. I have never had one but have heard alot of good things about them because they wont break because of the plastic the outer shell is made of unlike a normal glass one.
stealth for sure.

I love Jaeger heaters and with the automatic cut off there are no more exploding heaters when the water drops below the heater :ezpi_wink1:

Stealths have the same feature, they will automatically turn off when out of water and come back on when back in.

i think that alot of heaters have that feature now.
Stealth all the way. Nice thing also that they are not glass. No worries about shattering them.

For tanks with canisters, Hydor in-line, everything else gets a stealth.

Do any inline heaters work with the kink-free hosing on some canisters now?
Well Im not sure about any canister heaters...someone else will help you on that one.
But I got my heater. I decided to go with the stealth so I got a 50w. So thanks for all the help....just out of curiosity what is the average price on them..I got mine for $35?
