How would any of you suggest on how to start replacing the substrates and the fake plants over to real plants and if any different substrates, in my 10gal.

Would I just need to start slowly removing and adding the old with the new?

how long should I wait in between ect ect.

thank you

you could do it all at once, and keep the old gravel in a nylon bag for a while so the bacteria get transferred

well the first thing you need is the corect lighting. What kind of plants are you going for???
low light?
med light?

I know about the lighting, I will be doing beginners plants like the Java moss and fern stuff like that, well maybe not the moss, but in the starters class of plants. 1.5 watts per gal of water.

I also use a fiber filter under my rocks. I will keep that due to it hold most of the bacteria.

We took about half of our substrate out and added fluorite to it. It already had some live plants in it so there was no fake ones. I did it all at once. Including adding more plants.
