Hi all, I recently posted pics of out new cat Buster. He is a 4 month old Bengal. We also ordered a Savannah which is a mix of a Serval and domestic shorthair. The breeder contacted my and sent me pics of this little 7 week old kitten. We bought him and he will be shipped to us in about 3 weeks. Hope you enjoy

Aha with all those pics you must be very excited! And so you should be he is soo cool! thumbs2:
He is very cute. I was looking at the site you posted before with savannas and they give percentages of how much serval they are...what is yours?
And do they behave like regular domestic cats or do you see a more wild streak in them? Sorry about asking questions in your post but Im just curious because they are very nice looking cats but I have never seen anything but the domestic and bengals.

Thanks all, my Savannah will be an F3 which means it is 18% Serval, 82% Domestic. Savannahs act very domesticated. Pure Servals are not aggressive cats. My Bengal, Sparkles, which I just lost less than 2 weeks ago after 14 years was an F2 Bengal and he was very aggressive when defending himself but very affectionate otherwise. I think that Bengal’s are a more aggressive species when they are F series cats and not Bengal to Bengal breeding as opposed to Savannahs. Probably because the wild cat they use to create Bengal’s is much more aggressive than a Serval.
Hope this makes sense, I'm rambling.
Squirt 12, do you have a Bengal Cat?

Very cute, reminds me of a bobcat kit. If I was to get a cat it would have to be a bobcat also.

Squirt, I would love to see pics of you cat.
Kuli, this cat will be between 18 - 28 lbs. That's a lot of cat for my home. Should be fun and interesting. How big does a Bobcat get?
They tell me that they act doglike so I am hoping to take him to work a couple times a week. I own a 30,000 sq ft biulding I can let him loose in.

I trapped a bobcat the other day that weighed 35 lbs and I have seen them over 40. In a home I think they can get even bigger.

Very, very cool, Spyder. I'm a cat person myself, but mine come from the animal shelter. One is a serval mix that some little rich girl dumped that took me nearly six weeks to get back in shape. He's a big ole cat, nearly 30 pounds.

Hi all, we got our Savannah, his name is Samson. He is just shy of 3 months old and he is 4 lbs. He is deffinately going to be big. His legs are long and he is a bit clumsy. Buster, our 5 1/2 month old Bengal was 4 lbs. at 4 months, he is 7 lbs. now. I think Samson will catch up in a month.
Here are pics, the woman in the pics are my daughter and my beautiful wife. Hope you enjoy
Thank you for looking

My Savannah Kitten, Samson, is now 7 months old. He is the most beautiful animal I've ever had the pleasure of caring for. A couple weeks ago he stopped eating and started hiding. He got a fever and diarrhea. I brought him to our Vet and he was given antibiotics. The fever wouldn't brake so we thought he may have eaten something that created a blockage. Our Vet preformed exploratory surgery to see if there was a blockage...there was none however his lymph nodes were swollen and his intestines were hardened. He took biopsies of these areas and had them tested. The results are the worse possible...he has F.I.P. (feline Infectious Peritonitis). Basically it is 100% fatal. I am so, so sad.

I am so sorry about that. I have a shih tzu who has CRF (chronic renal failure) and at this point she is on special food and is doing ok...but I know what the outcome will eventually be.
Is/can FIP be supported by treating the symptoms?
Spyder

There is no none treatment for FIP. Eventually all his organs will be destroyed. It's a matter of quality of life now. This could take anywhere from a week to a couple months.

Samson went to sleep forever last night, Monday at 6:15. He is no longer in pain. My heart is truely broken. In the 6 months we've had him he made his way into our hearts. We will miss him.

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] is terrible to hear. We have a Bengal cat (who just turned 1 and is just under 20 lbs) and i would be a wreck if something like this happened to him. My mother lost one of her persians to the same thing. My heart goes out to you and your cat.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. We just lost our 14 yo cat, Pete, in February. He was a sweet boy- I'm still not over it!
