Here's the last of the ones I've kept and has become very popular the last few years mainly because they have become so easy to spawn, they get about 2" and like their temps 71-77F. As I said they reach 2" but many of the tank raised seem smaller IME.

The Panda Cory

There are many video's of this guy ;-)

Beautiful photos, DD. Love that 'green, glittery sheen' you've captured on them.

Lee, the panda corys are so dang cute! Thanks for doing a thread on them.
With their water temperature requirements, I'll not be able to actually keep any, but that doesn't stop me from admiring them!

To my believe these aren't real blackwater fish Joe.

Being from the upper reaches of the Peruvian Amazon they still can be found in both white water and in black water habitats.

Appologies !

Alot of the habitat looks like this still relatively clear water but still a ton of organics that you would find in a blackwater there just more turn over from the Andes run off

now that just looks silly :P

and will have a impact on there swimming habits in my opinion not a good idea for a constant swimmer to have long fins..

Not a fan of albino neons either, what's the point? You keep them for their coloration right? Must be a market though.

I've had an adopted paleatus longfin. I wasn't able to swim and eat properly arghhh. I hate it.
Mother Nature made such awesome animals / fish.
So the question is : WHY ???

They are not albinos, but leucistic. They lack the red eyes.
But indeed not my favourite.

I don't know if there's a "true albino neon" everything I've ever seen has blue eyes as you said

And we humans also destroyed the " normal" ones by overbreeding etc.
