Amazon compacta

Hello all,

I am a returning member to this forum and am glad. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I'll make this brief. I just recently purchased some plants to put in a 5 gallon betta (only) tank. One of the plants was an Amazon Compacta. The leaves look a health green but the this one is dark brownish/black in color. It is firm, however without being "mushy or rotten. Any advice is appreciated

Due to a typo, I meant to say that the rhizome is dark brownish/black but firm upon sqeezing.

Amazon Swords don't have rhizomes...can you post a pic of the plant?
