Hi. I'm hoping someone can ID this for me. I was visiting my lfs and the guy was tearing down a frag tank to redo some stuff in the store. So, he was giving away "free sand". What was in the free sand was a bunch of little feather dusters, which is what I wanted. So I got home and poured it into a tub and sifted through the sand for the feather dusters to put into my tank. There were two other critters I found in the sand. Well three...one being a bristle worm, but I knew what that was. The other two were globs with sand stuck to them and if you leave them alone for a minute they send out a whole bunch of litte red hair like tentacles. I know what I think they are but I don't want to put them in my tank till I'm sure they are a good thing to put in the tank. Here's the best pic I could get of one of them. Thanks for your help.

Looks like something caddisfly larvae would do.

But they're freshwater species.

So I have no clue.

I already got an ID on it. Thank you though. :c12: It's a spaghetti worm. It's a very good detrivore to have in sw tanks. Teh little hairs coming out one end are feeding tenticles. In the same baggie of sand I got the two spaghetti worms, about a dozen or more tiny feather dusters, and 1 bristle worms...also a good detrivore. Thanks again! :c5:
