What kind of plant to start with?

Hi,
I'm new to this sight, seemed like a good one. I have a 50 gallon that I have started, I used pea gravel for the bottom and several large fixtures for the fish.
new to the tank are 2 blue rams and 2 angel fish, they join 2 silver dollors that are 10+ years old and 1 very conted plecoustimas, also of the same age.
I would like to add a plant, I just don't know what kind to get.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

For fish tank that big you can get dozen of different plants. There are some incompatible species as they may require different water parameters. Get a consultation with aquarium shop you bought everything and they will give you a great list of possible plants, otherwise visit this forums aquatic plants page.
