One of the newest and most beautiful of the Corydoras, one of my favorites and one I've been lucky to have kept. I found them to not be as shy as some Cory's and very social with the other corys in the tank, but most are. Only drawback is their price. Even though they are spawned fairly easy, even the tank raised ones can cost you 10.00 and up, their different coloration and hardiness make them worth it, but here's one I'd like to spawn for myself. Their coloration puts me in mind of clown loach's

The "two saddle" or weitzmani cory

Good long video of their spawning behavior

^^ That was neat to watch, thanks!

I need to get a few more, started with 5, but only see 4 recently :scry:

Easy to hide in that tank, though, but like you say, they certainly aren't shy

I agree with you, Lee. These are very pretty and personable Corys that I would also like to have in the future myself.

I'm going to highlight at least one species a day to justify them getting their own thread ;-)

awesome Lee. I might get some of these from a friend. Did you allready see the CW051 Cory which looks a lit alike.

Cory are so delightful, they have long needed their own subforum (or whatever the right term might be)

Yes I did DD, liked it very much, but I like most of them except the really long nosed ones.

Lee is really good at doing just that.

Agree. Several longnosed aren't schoolers as well and can be quite agressive !!!

That sounds like it would be quite useful if they could be listed out -- as a caution of sorts -- in a new thread. This way, folks would be warned not to add them with the expectation them being a peaceful group for a community tank.

Just so the people can see what CW051 looks like ;-)

Welcome back to the forum, it's been awhile since you've posted

Thanks for sharing the vid, how many weitzis are in this tank?

About 10. After not spawning for a long time, they spawned about three weeks ago, but then I needed to empty out the tank (was installing a corner Mattenfilter), so they went into a new tank last week. They've been spawning for the last two days. They seem to want to put the eggs on plants, rather than on the glass. I retrieved about 20 eggs over the last two days.

Nice! So are you breeding baby Weitzmanis? :19:

I'm trying! In the past, I've never seen their eggs, but have found a few fry. Now they are now putting their eggs in places where I can see at least some of them and remove them.

It would be cool if you established a permanent breeding colony of these guys ;-)
