Today's question courtesy of Lyn, yesterday's DT winner.

Without searching the internet, answer me the following question:

From the Guggenheim Museum to Fallingwater, architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed some of America’s most iconic structures. Less known, however, is that another one of his designs inspired the creation of one of history’s most popular children’s toys. Which children's toy, patented by FLW's son was inspired by the structural design of the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo?

Fun question!

Linkadoo's?
(not sure if that's spelled right)

As long as you don't read about it, lol

I found them to be a handy toddler toy. They all have a curved shape and can fit together.

Maybe Brickabracks would be a better guess.
I think that is what they are called, anyhow. Those brick-looking building blocks that have rows of teeth on all sides? You stick the teeth of different bricks together.

Both of my guesses are probably too plastic-y to be good guesses, though.

I have another guess in mind but can't recall the name of those things....
ha!! guess that guess won't do, then.

K loved her linkadoos! I also used them for my own convenience to hang things from her stroller handle. They were great for teething too!

The official website (I'm not making this up) says "beloved by children of all ages"......:hmm3grin2orange:

If I gave away the year they came out, this might be over quickly

Ken, you had a great guess. That's gotta be the all-time most popular toy, right?

K loved her linkadoos! I also used them for my own convenience to hang things from her stroller handle. They were great for teething too!

I should not admit to this... but: I still have some and use them regularly. I keep them in my vehicle, clipped to the head rest bars, and use them to hang bags from. Road trip? I pack a snack bag with handles and on the linkadoo it goes. Grocery run? We have a city-wide ban on single-use plastic bags, so my stash of reusable grocery bags hangs from the linkadoo. Then the ones in the back keep the filled bags from sliding around on the way home.

Tinker toys?

THAT was what I was trying to recall, earlier! Thanks for the name, now it won't keep me awake tonight. ha!

Congrats on your win, Sil.
Terrific question, Lyn.

I didn't guess it, but according to today's politically correct culture where nobody gets left out, I should get a prize, too. Right?

:hmm3grin2orange:

I hate to sound negative, but "no"

All it takes to earn some points is a sincere guess before the contest is won....you don't get more points the more you guess, it's a one time prize once you participate.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll send you a cookie, to go eat in your "safe space"*............:14:

*That was a joke, please don't inundate me with PM's, no offense meant....etcetera, etcectera. and of course......etcetera

Girls, I have never heard of linkadoos and I will have to look them up.
Matt, you are hysterical, as always!
I am so surprised that I actually guessed this one. Tinker toys and Lincoln Logs were the only "older" toys that I could think of.
