I wonder if this one will make it into the hobby.

I would call it tiger Cory.

With a Ph 4.5 level ya I don't think it will. But maybe it will survive in higher ph.

Edit: thanks for sharing now I have a new website I can vist for new info.

Neat looking little guys. They stay quite small, too.
Thanks for showing them to us, mommy

I like it! But I'd have to raise him in 25% lemon juice around here. Sounds like they grow in peat bogs.

Very cute. I had the Aspidoras pauciradiatus for a while. Great little alternative to the dwarf cories, but I lost mine after about 6-7 months.

Tiger Cory would be a good common name for them. I have liquid rock for water here. I would definitely have to invest in RO water if they ever made it into my LFS.

Even RO ph is pretty much neutral at 7 so talk about having to add some organics!

I would be up for the challenge of breeding some harder water tolerant offspring though pretty neat looking great for the ornamental trade and another alternative to the dwarf cory

They also come from Blackwater. That with RO water and lots of organics might work. It would definitely be an interesting challenge.

Hmm well the my black water bio tope is pretty much set for them. If only in nz they would come.

Only (small) thing is there isn't one Aspidoras called Cory hahahha.
But there is a reshuffle of names planned so who knows.

Only (small) thing is there isn't one Aspidoras called Cory The article says this as well, but then it calls the fish a Cory. It says it's actually a corydoradinae not corydora... Then they wonder why we get confused.

Hahaha. As said : At the catfish convention in Wigan a reshuffle was announced. I believe some Corydoras will get another name (paleatus is one of them). To make life more simple hahaha.

:scratchheadblue: how will that simplify things?

That is a cute little guy, but with such a low pH and such specific needs, I also think it won't be very common. Unless Joe gets them acclimated to 7.0.

Aspidoras? Use to see them in one Lfs many many years.
