You just keep tempting me with fish i can never get here. You are going to force me to get an import license.

I maybe not aloud, but if you need a builder to build all the stands build the tanks and set it up, then count me in Lee Matt and William.

Hehe I will remember that if I do something. You are always welcome. But I might need you over there to send me the fish ; -)

Over here?? Do not know if that would be of much use. My skills are in my hands, energy and making things. So right in the thick of action is my territory.

P.s Ibis can be territorial. [in house joke, found in the journals]

I figured you would have a lot of strains available over there since they come from ozzy land. (figured import(export might be easier between the two countries)

I maybe from there, but have not lived there for over a decade. Laws have changed and so has life there, something which I have never kept up with. So unsure on what the laws are now.

I know that you have been in NZ for a long time. But Sweden has a lot more relaxed import rules from the other Scandinavian countries than the rest of the world. (now all of EU). Nicaragua has the same with their neighboring countries. I figured NZ and Australia might have the same. But i guess not.

P.s One day i am going to get caught up on the journals enough to understand why Ibis might be territorial :-)

Hell no. Our importation protection vs Ozzie with live animals fruits vegetables timbers cars pets is so high it's easier to take drugs through the air port in plain sight.

It's all to do with the abilty for pretty much all of the stuff in Ozzie to live here. Which they do not want to happen.

Hehe I know. Nicaraguan is the other way around. lets give it a chance. If it can survive her than let it.

Nicaragua is a very hospitable place but it is a very competitive environment since it is in the collision zone between the north and the South American fauna. Most things living here tend to be hardy, aggressive, spiny or very prolific. The kind of things that cause problem when they are moved. Case and point the water hyacinth and the cane toad to name just two.

Hmm the Cain toad. Lol that's a really sick joke in Ozzie.

Ha ha ha. I can just imagine. I have seen their problems with them. Even though they are almost as common here as they are there. I have some monster ones in the garden. I have one that is growing very quickly because he spends all night under the bug zapper.

BTW Do you know why same male cane toad get a yellow color before spawning while 99.9% do not? They are really pretty when they color up.

Something I do not know. We spend to much killing them in our spare time.

Are the legs edible?

I know Florida is overrun with them...

Ive heard people eating them on shows. There many species under the common name. Idk any one who eats them. They have a milky toxin in glands on the sides of there head that often make dogs temporarily sick. Im sure you have them in tx.

We typically eat spring frogs same ones you have in texas.

I haven't heard of cane frogs in Texas, but anything's possible

By "spring" frogs, do you mean bullfrogs?...their legs are the ones typically eaten around here

I've never tried them, but would if I had the chance

My sister lives here in the same town as me, they have a pool that turned into a pond, and it's full of bullfrogs...they make quite a racket at night in the summer months

Bullfrogs and spring frogs very similar yes. I try manage them in my pond so we keep getting a couple meals a year. Good viddles. Like alot of fish. Coming from good water makes a big difference in taste. We gig or shoot them.
