A few of my angelfish have been acting very strangely the past few days. Their fins seem clamped down, and they have been highly inactive. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170112/8e85678f7565ff25668293a8f44872cf.jpg

How long has the tank been set up, how long have you had them?

What are your water params, using a liquid test kit?

Yeah, that is not normal for angelfish to be hiding in caves. Once we get more info, we will be able to help more. One more question, have you added anything including plants or snails to the tank after the angels? Have they only started acting like this and for how long?

Also, do you notice anything looking abnormal on the angelfishes bodies? Are they losing color (looking pale) and are they eating? Any other particular thing you notice that's odd? Any little info can help, so mention everything, even if you don't think it means anything.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Tank has been up for about 8 months. These angels have been there for about 5 months. A week ago, no problems. There are 2 amazon sword plants, and no snails or anything. All of them eat, i feed flakes and frozen brine shrimp 3 times a week. I have noticed a crazy jump in ph from 7 to 7.8, and am unaware of why. They are also housed with koi angels, and the koi are just fine. They have lost a bit of their shimmer. I keep the water at 80 degrees, and do 25% water changes twice a week.

Are you putting in enough water conditioner for the whole tank volume, and not just how much water you change out?

Do you use buckets or a siphon/hose?

Are you treating the new water in the bucket with conditioner before you add it to the tank and is it the same temperature as water already in the tank? Not sure what the problem is yet but they look really stressed.

Agreed. So many questions, but your angels in the pic look so stressed :( and we want to help you. Have you noticed any breeding behavior with the koi angels, how many angels do you have in your tank, are they relatively the same size and how big is your tank?

That's quite the jump. How long did the tank take to jump this high? Can you find out what your kh and gh are in the tank?
