Unfortunately I forgot what species my pleco is and I can't find it on the internet. Does anyone in the AC know? Thank you so much.

Do you have any photos of its underside?

I have yet to see him on the front or sides of the tank in order to get a view of his underside, but I will keep an eye on him. I'd really like to know what kind he is.

I just have a feeling he's going to get super big. The lfs told me he would be a smaller one. I only had the 65g at the time so that was perfect; however, I now have the 125g cycling so he could always be housed there if need be. Hopefully he doesn't outgrow that tank. I'd hate to take him back or sell him :(

How large is it now?

To be honest i think it is a common place.
I have spent some time looking at many types of lp and also sub types of pleco, and i am yet to see a match as such, in that type of searching. But there have been a few things similarities to other types. Maybe its a decent cross breed.
Although the closest I did find was this

Going to be tough to pin point since there is over 600 species in the Loricariidae family. However most likely it's a common pleco they can vary a lot in color.

Looks like it may be a common or a common sailfin. Here's my common sailfin L-83. It's about 14 inches.

Really agree with you on that. One thing I have seen more with the common pleco, is depending on lighting, planting, rock and wood work, feeding, And lastly are. That the color changes so drastically.

Wow, awesome tank Luke! Watched your video. I really want some Geo's too. You have that 14" pleco in your 125G along with your others and the space is adequate? I'm fear having to depart with mine due to size, but we'll see.
Again, awesome tank!

Possibly upgrade and have multiple tank syndrome?

So, after the lights were going down, he decided to make an appearance on the front wall of the tank so I threw the lights up and snapped a photo of his underbelly. Maybe it'll help us identify him better ;)

No problem but I know. Didn't take offense or anything just letting everyone know it's got lots of space to grow.

That's all good. Thanks for clearing that up.

Now back to studying marine tanks. Plus it's now nearly mid night here

Looks like the common H.pleco to me

It will be OK in your tank for a little while plenty of time to setup your 125g

Amazon Joe -
I was starting to think the common H. pleco as well. Wish I would have researched pleco's a little more but I guess when the lfs told me he wouldn't grow but 4-6" I believed them. I should know, there not always right even though they sound convincing. My pleco is 3.25" right now. Bought him 2.5 weeks ago. I'm just hoping the 125g will be ok for him otherwise I have to find somewhere for him to go. :(

Luke77 -
I'm sorry if you got upset. I guess I was trying to get hope from you thinking yours was in your 125g as well. Well, I've learned a lot of lessons here. ;) Thank you all for everything!! :) :) Maybe if mine gets too big I can sell him to you and you can put him in your 220g. Ha ha...

It will take a year or more until you need to worry it out growing the 125 :)

Right now I'm looking for a l-25 scarlet pleco. But they cost a pretty penny. Would like one between 10 and 12 inches but I'll be looking at about a 300 to 500 price tag. Seeing I just spent pretty good money on Altums I'll have to wait a bit.

I would really love a luteus pleco but that's probably in the 1000 price range for a 10" one.
