I'm not sure it it's a little tight but everyone seems to be happy in my 10 gallon hex that I'm hoping to move out of soon. I've got 9 fish in there but they all seem to get along. 3 Julii cories on the bottom, 2 bumblebee gobies (small fish) a gold molly and red platy that stay mostly in the middle and toward the top, and 2 otos to control the algae and who are tiny. It really stretches a bit beyond the 1" per 1 gallon rule I like to keep but everyone seems happy. Eventually I want to move them out into this 16 gallon tank that I saw which seems to be a good fit albeit a little high.

There is no 1"/gallon rule. The only rule in stocking is 'it depends'. That sounds fine, but I am concerned about the gobies and mollies. Both are naturally bracksih and may be fine for a while in pure freshwater, but long term it is not going to allow them to thrive. The other issue is that the others are not brackish. In order for them to truly thrive they need to be in separate tanks. They really will do better in setups that will suit their natural needs.

Not overstocked, but as the wise fish guy said, the bumblebee gobies re brackish and can develop skin disorder without salt in their water.
