Would hairgrass or dwarf hairgrass grow and propogate at a reasonable pace in my 20h, with 65 lighting, diy co2, fluorite, and weekly ferts? What other carpet plants would work well? currently I have brazilian microsword and it is being overrun with algae, although it's spreading.

dwarf hairgrass needs lots of light and I would say you have enough. You have more than 3 watts per gallon. No expert here but it would be my guess.

I believe dwarf hairgrass is the stuff that can be grown out of water so make sure whoever you get it from grew it submersed. If not, it will die when you put it in your tank.

DH is a slow grower immersed... Honestly, in my personal opinion, most foreground plants take forever to grow in...

Try looking up Glossostigma elatinoides
