So I recently downloaded POKEMON GO on my HTC Desire, has anyone else fallen victim? If so what level is your trainer now, and what is your best pokemon? Also how many of you have 'chucked' your phone out the window because you just can't catch THE ONE.

Just make sure she doesn't cross the road to catch pokemon without looking. apparently there have already been some issues to that effect.

I did almost trip in the parking lot at my second job as there was a slight crack in the asphalt and didn't notice.

I can definitely say watching where you are going is a thing.

Just Googled it as never heard of it but it's not out in the UK yet and looks like quite a few people have been hurt because of it and one poor girl even found a dead body.

I suppose it will at least get the kids out exercising instead of sitting on there backsides on like a playstation even though I limit the amount of time my kids sit down playing they would sooner be out running around.

My son just came for a short visit and to pick something up. He first had to try to get the Pokemon in my house!! First I've seen of this and I can see that there could be issues if you don't pay attention to your surroundings. He's now driving to Long Island, NY so I hope he uses the good sense he usually has and leaves his phone off.

I just saw this - I don't know thing 1 about the game or how it works, but maybe this is something? Knowing a little girl who is spending most of her days in the hospital, this might just make her smile.

I saw this too. I think it would be awesome of people placed lures like that. Also pokemon go just opened up to a lot of European countries today.

That's why no one can connect...probably for most of the day too as everyone downloads it.

GRRR...But good for them.

Just be aware and warn children that some "bad" people have used some way to lure unsuspecting people to an area and then rob them. I don't know how they do this but I watched it being done as a demo on TV and within minutes a group of people arrived to the exact location as the demonstrator. So be safe out there! If you are in an unfamiliar area do not go alone.

and watch where you're going
we passed 2 kids at 10:30 last night on the side of a busy road, right near the highway exit
both looking down, neither watching the cars or where they were walking

I downloaded the game earlier this week, and never caught a single pokemon lol. It just didn't seem to interest me very much. I've all kinds of crazy stories about people playing this game, such as falling off cliffs (and surviving thankfully) and children running out in front of cars. I don't know whether I really the believe that someone walked off a cliff while playing this game but I would believe that children stepped into oncoming traffic trying to catch pokemon. I'm glad the game is getting people to go out and walk, but regardless there's still a lot of people who drive around to find the little things then pull over to catch them, and drive around some more, not actually walking. Some of these stories are kinda scary to hear the lengths people go to for a video game.:ssuprised:

I am watching this new phenom with interest (I don't play enough video games to be interested in trying)...

My first thought: This is dangerous and it's going to be banned in short order.
My second thought: If it gets people out and about - and out of their basements and video chairs, it's a good thing!
My third thought: This is dangerous and it's going to be banned in short order...lol. Why? Just read the story about the two kids that were shot at in Florida, homeowner thought they were thieves...

So how long is it going to take before enough people get injured (or worse) and they stop the game?

That is terribly sad and tragic, and, it doesn't surprise me.

"They also warned Pokémon Go users to avoid trespassing or driving while playing" ....duh, you would think that people would have better common sense

I don't think that they should ban the game just because there are people who won't play it responsibly. People should know not to trespass on property .. even if there is a [insert name of rare Pokemon] there. People should keep their phones put up while driving. And you certainly shouldn't play while walking near a cliff. I have the game on my phone and play it a lot. I stay on sidewalks and put my phone down while I cross the street. I am also constantly aware of what is going on around me. You can't be so absorbed in the game that you check out of reality.
