In the best possible conditions, what is the lifespan of the average fancy guppy? I thought it was one year, but I was glancing at a book that gave about 3 years. What are some signs of old age in a guppy?
I have one female that I bought about 4 months ago as a full sized adult. She is kind of hunched over and swims kind of wobbly, but responds pretty normally to her 2 or 3 mo. old beau (ie good at hiding when he gets in her "hair" ) and eats OK. Then I have a male guppy, who I think is pretty close to a year old, but seems as spry as ever, though not as amorous as he used to be toward my male sailfin molly.
