Hello.
I got into the hobby because my girlfriend wanted a fish, so I got her a little hanging betta bowl. I was more into it than her. He was hardly in the small betta bowl for a day when I decided to pick up a 10 gallon from Craigslist.
Just thought I'd post a couple picks.

I was going to get a larger tank but decided against spending the money right now. But just got a free 10 gallon to keep me happy for awhile. Currently cycling.

The established tank:
Stocked with Dwarf cory, endlers, honey gourami.I

The new tank is unstocked just threw some pkants in it.
Would love to hear some stocking ideas. Don't really want to do any schooling unless they atr fish that are happy in small schools.
Would like some suggestions for fish that do well in pairs or trios. Might just do a betta tank???

Any ideas for oddball fish for a 10 gallon?

Welcome to the AC. Nice tanks you have there. You can certainly add the betta to the 10-he will love the extra space, IMO they shouldn't be in anything smaller than a 5 gallon tank. You can add a snail or two to keep him company (mystery or a nerrite).

He's been a member since last month, just posted in the intro section for some reason.

Nice tanks.

Here's one I've always wanted to try but have not had an empty tank to dedicate to them - Nannacara anomala, Golden Dwarf Cichlid. Not an oddball, just not your everyday fish.

Thanks, yeah never got around to doing an intro. Never too late for a intro and I still considered my self new to the forum.

Thanks for the suggestion. I was thinking about cichlids. Wasn't sure if there were any that would be good for a 10 gallon.

Right. I only had the betta in a bowl for a day before i got the 10 gallon. He was so interesting to watch. I no longer have the betta gave him to the guy I bought the tank from, my girlfriend wanted more than one fish. I miss having a betta though. I put in some shrimp and a Dwarf frog with him. He ended up taking out a couple shrimp. Seemed to do fine with the frog besides grabbing blood worms out of his mouth.

The only reason Im considering other options besides a betta is that having another community tank might be a good idea if my honey gourami pair get aggressive or decide to mate.

Two things.
1. Shouldn't a kind mod move this to the Journals section?

2. I'm glad you got the betta moved to the 10 gallon. I also wouldn't keep a betta fish in anything smaller than a 5g, unless it was an emergency. Need pictures of the betta btw.

No need to apologize, it happens

I can move the thread easily if the OP agrees

Doesn't matter to me. Meant it as a late intro/ and to post a picture of my first tank. Wasnt quite sure where to post it and kind of got off topic. If you want to move it, feel free to move it where you think it belongs.
And thank you for all your help, Ive taken quite a few of your suggestions and have always been happy with the results when I do.

We'll just leave it here, and if you'd like to start a new thread in the journals section on your 10G, feel free to do so.
