Hey guys,

Since I got the fish room going i'm placing a huge order for aquarium lids.

Ones I saw when I was in cleveland are made out of a clear corrugated plastic

Pros:
Extremely light weight
Won't break
Cheaper than glass
Easily customize-able

Cons:
Larger sizes a little tough to ship (still working on this)

Prices I have so far
30/40b $17 each
20/29 $13 ea
20h/55 $10 ea (2 for 55)
10g $7 ea

I'd really only recommend these to someone with a bunch of tanks to cover - it can save a bit if you have 4-5 10g tanks to cover vs going with glass

I have some better pics coming, but this is one I took while at the place

Does the light transfer through the corrugated plastic differ than vs glass?

from when i was there, if there was a difference, it was very minimal.

The photo there is the bottom 75g in a rack (2 tall) with lights only on the top, so still fairly bright

talking to the guy that makes them, the material is designed for green house ceilings, so its meant to put through the humid hot conditions while allowing for a high amount of light to get through

Very interesting.

I hope you'll be able to find a work-around to help lower the high shipping costs for your larger tanks.

with the amount I'm already ordering the size i have shouldn't be terrible, but shipping 1 or 2 big ones is tough

Are they not hinged like the glass ones? And why is that hole in the one pictured? is that for feeding, rather than lifting the whole top? Seems like it could be a little awkward if not hinged when doing water changes.

not hinged, 1 solid piece, but light weight enough to remove it entirely for water changes if needed

Hole is to feed / lift
