so the ph that comes out of the tap is 7.8-8.0pH how can i reduce this because i'd like to do a community planted tank with my 55...
(as a note my girlfriend and i got a few gold fish in the tank now i geuss i'll know if my concrete background was done seeping chemicals if they fish die super fast. for now all is well.)

Most will probably do OK with that high pH. It's the constant pH that they can adapt to but the raising and lowering is what gets them.
You might want to get some peat pellets and put it in a bag and run it thru your filters. Or pile up more wood in your tank.

i would like some drift wood maybe i'll go hunting or to the lfs and see what i can dig out of their plastic pond thing full of it, if im in luck they might have some that is already sinking :D
