today i bought some Kordon powder that is supposed to be good for all corals and grow healthy algae, which my tang loves. it says to mix it with warm water so it makes a loose paste, then put it in the tank and it will blend into the substrate.
instead of adding it straight to the tank, can i add it to my filter?

my main worry was it would cloud the water, but the jar says it wont if added to the tank so i guess i will add it straight to the tank

its a powder booster for corals and algae. i think its basically calcium.
I havent used it yet, because i have a question. on the bottle it says that the product will raise my nitRAte level to 18ppm. they dont even say how to fix it. would the 18ppm harm anything?
Well 18 isn't a big deal for freshwater tanks as you know, but I'm learning about SW. I wonder if they mean it will raise nitrAtes BY 18 though, that would make more sense.

I think it would be okay. Don't corals get theiir nutrients from the water column, not the sunstrate?

the weird thing is how it says it will make the nitrate 18. what if my nitrate was 19? it wont go down. lol
im going to try adding some now

I've never heard of such a thing. Did it cloud your water?? BTW nitrates of 18 isn't awful but I think they meant that it adds 18 ppm to what you might already have in the tank. Is this powder a food? Or calcium??
