well after battling fungus on his leg for a week he sadly past away :(. I had him for about 8 months....he was a very nive little frog. He was about the size of a loonie. he was very cute...he will sadly be missed.
This is a little graphic: is in white so if you want to read it then you can highlight it.
Well he has fungus on his leg and i noticed it so i got some treatment for the tank and well i think i was too late. The fungus has ate away at the flesh on his leg and went to the bone. It was bloody and not good. This worked almost 3/4 of the way up his leg and then something must have ate the bone becasue it was gone. I posted something about the disease but nobody replied.
R.I.P

so do you think that that kind of disease would have only attacked the frog and nothing else?????
cause nothing else in the tank got it.
thanks.
Could have been something very specific to the frog, no way to really know. Sorry to hear of your loss and sorry no one replied to your post, must have stumped everyone on that!

you could look at [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] to see if there is any disease that seems similar. Sorry I missed your post and to hear about your ADF...I love the little guys.

That is an odd one, I can’t recall ever hearing about something like that. Can you answer a few questions for me? Was he/she still eating? How many Days/Weeks/Months passed bye between the day you first noticed the problem, and the day he died? What was he kept in? Was there anything else in there with him (Fish, other frogs, ect.)? Was he/she skinny, or fat? Was he/she still using the leg when it started? Did he/she have that fungus any where else or was it just that one spot? Did that fungus start out covering a small area and gradually spread? Or did it stay in the same spot and just get worse? What did the fungus look like (Stringy, fuzzy, slime)? The reason I ask is I would like to hopefully find out what it was for future reference.

yes he was still eating
about 1 week s'he had it for
kept in a 33g with community fish
he was not skinng but not fat...so normal
he was still eating when the problem was going on
he tried to use the leg
the fungus started at the foot and worked its way up
the fungus was kind of fuzzy and slimy
i hope that helps at all.
P.S.
Nothing else in the tank was injured or caught the fungus or anything.

Hey squirt 12,
Sorry to hear of your loss. I like frogs. They eat algae a lot. Frogs bring in a lot of ammonia and that could have added to your current ammonia and could have been too much for your little friend. matt23
