thats one disadvantage on my 55g reef, i wanted a sump but the tanks tempered glass.

i agree with jeff though

its kinda like throwing a sparkplug at it

Tempered glass is actually safer when it breaks too, they crumble and tend to have rounder fragments then regular glass.
