For some reason one of my silver dollars has become aggressive for the past week toward the three other silver dollars. I don't know if this has any bearing, but the aggressive silver dollar recently had cloud eye and shows what looks like a little fin rot. I treated the cloud eye with melafix and it has cleared up. I've had the silver dollars for about two months and they got along fine. Do male silver dollars compete for females? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I have had 4 silver dollars for quite some time and have noticed no aggression. Could you explain exactly what the aggressive one is doing?

The aggressive silver dollar will swim fast toward the other silver dollars and attempt to nip them. It will do this several times during the day. At first, It looked like he was going after one particular silver dollar. Now it's going after all of them. It doesn't bother the angelfish.

Can't help you on this one sorry.
The only odd behavior I have ever seen of mine, is shimmying together side by side, I was told this was mating behavior.

if it gets too bad it would probably be best if you seperate the aggressive one from the rest, if he's not hurting any of them i would just wait a few days and see if he cools down

I have 9 and find them pretty awesome fish. I can't picture them nipping but can see them give a push. They play just like tetra's. Push and run and chase and turn around in circles.

If that's the case, no one wants to "play" with him. :c2:

I don't know what his problem would be. I've never heard of them being a bit aggressive but you may have the odd-ball of the Dollars.
