So I'm not sure if my guppy has ick, it's only 1 white spot larger than a grain of salt on top of her head. She's the only one out of 2-10gl tanks full of guppys, fry and some new ghost shrimp I bought 3 days ago. They would be the only new things that have been introduced to either tank for at least 6 months. Haven't had any other problems (besides a java moss disintegrating into the gravel and turning everything in 1 tank brown spotted!) :scry: Any ideas or thoughts will be appreciated! thanks in advance the "other" Cindy lol

Shrimp don't get ich, but if the tank they came from has ich in it, it is a good possibility the ich traveled with them from LFS to your tank.

Yes, mommy1 is correct. That's how your guppy got sick.

One of the main reasons you do NOT want the water from the LFS getting into your tanks.

The theront stage of ich can settle on anything and transfer over to your tank. Shrimp don't get ich, but they can carry in the theront. Plants can carry ich as well, another reason to always quarantine. Here is a really good article about ich (and I didn't even write it) http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/ichthyophthirius

Thanks for the advice! I was trying to get the lil buggers in after setting them in the tanks for awhile but they are faster then these crippled hands can react! Splosh! goes the bag and all! Should of had them on the clip on hangers like slap does but no, I wasn't thinking so it's my fault I reckon (blush) Should shrimp be quarantined? For some reason I just didn't think they did lol

We all have accidents happen, so don't fret over it

I've never QT'd shrimp, just acclimated, netted, and put into my tanks

The skeptical aquarist has many interesting articles with good information. I often "get lost" there too.
