I'm making my first attempt at a poll, just FYI if it doesn't come out right...

I was thinking of something fun for everyone and could also help beginners:

What is your favorite "center piece" to use in your aquarium? I'm only familiar with freshwater, so forgive me if I missed something used in saltwater. Please include why if it would help a beginner decide what to use.

As a post script, I've allowed multiple selections if you have more than one. Did not know that was availabl when I submitted my original text.

To add to my choice I love the driftwood due to it's natural 'organic' feel it adds to the tank. Plus I love the shrimp and they also love the driftwood.

Theres something about how a piece of drift wood with some plants on it that just makes the tank look its best to me. Maybe because of how it looks more realistic and nature like.

I would vote for DRIFTWOOD!!! Especially if it's a super nicely shaped one! Beautiful center piece...

I dont have a "center piece" in my tank, or lets say, my center piece is more or less free space, so my fish have room to move around.

I have arranged my driftwood and plants and rocks that way, territory boarders were made up for my Cichlids, and those territories are based in the corners.

The center piece in my tank is something like a no-mans-land, in which my fish are relatively peaceful, cause its also the main feeding area.

i'm with nanaglen i prefer to put all decor around the edge and have a space in the middle

A centre piece doesn't have to be in the centre - let's call it an eyecatcher instead :1luvu:

I also voted driftwood slightly off to the left or right of the tank - the centre is nicest open so it draws your eyes in giving it more depth.

Nothing can beat a beautiful piece of driftwood ....

well i voted for driftwood and plants because i like the look of drift wood and it looks even cooler when you have plants (live or fake) all in the tank and around the drift wood.

I am into off-center as well. But it all depends on how many plants you have, the fish sizes and definately how large the tank is. A 200 gallon with wood in the center poses no problem. A 20 gallon with wood in the center most likely will.

Some have "centerpiece" fish and want them to be displayed more than the wood.

All personal choice! If I put my wood in the center, my silver dollars would knock themselves out.

i dont really have a center piece in my tank. I'd rather people first notice the fish i'm working so hard to keep alive and happy rather than a hunk of wood. I guess my fish are the center piece, particularly my pearl gourami because she's the biggest and prettiest:41:

i dont really decorate my FW tanks to the extreme since i always work on the reef, but usually as a centerpiece i use a rock stack or driftwood

Mine's a rock pile, especially since i have cichlids.

Yes, maybe I should clarify, I used center piece in quotes to imply the eye catcher as was suggested. I choose to my my driftwood in the middle mostly because I like to bookend the aquarium with plants and I have smaller tanks which basically only leaves the middle for anything else :c12:

I also noticed I typoed "skull" haha oops!
