View Full Version : Lost a pleco today...

I'd had him for about 2 years. I was stunned to walk downstairs and see him in the same spot he was for a while, and he was grey-white (?). He was normally a brown-gold color, so it obviously really freaked me out. Sure enough (and no surprise), no breathing or movement. Did a massive water change/overhaul, just not sure why it was so out of the blue.

So sorry for the loss; they're always tough, especially when you've had them so long

Sorry for your loss, it is so hard to loose a fish, and for me very hard when its a pleco. I have lost 4 since I have been keeping them and 2 of those 4 were mysteries to me. So many are wild caught I don't wonder if they don't have parasites that just slowly effect them, even though they look to be healthy to us. They are so elusive too that sometimes it is hard to see they aren't doing well until its too late.
